Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Biryani take 90 mins?

Making a proper Hyderabadi Biryani typically takes hours. With this kit, it is ready in just an hour and a half - and most of that time is in the oven. It is a simple matter of marinading the meat, parboiling the rice, then layering them with fried onions and cooking them in the oven on gentle heat.

Why do people love Biryani so much?

Most Indians rank Biryani in their top 3 favourite dishes, if not number 1. It is the combination of gently cooked rice in fragrant spices and meat that hits all the flavour centres of the brain. There are over 200 types of Biryani in India, and this dum (steam cooked) style Hyderabadi Biryani is the best of them.

I cook for 1 or 2 people - is this too much Biryani for me?

This kit makes almost 2 kg of Biryani, enough for 6 generous serves. The best part is that the Biryani tastes better the next day. So if you have leftovers or like to meal prep, make it all in one go and freeze.
